On Monday, April 29, 2019, the University of Zakho, represented by Dr. Karwan Fahmi-Vice President of the University for Students Affairs and Assistant Professor Dr. Yaseen T. Mustaf-Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, participated in the Third International Scientific Conference of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University which was organized under the slogan "With scientific research we invest the achievements of the past to improve the present and the future". The conference was organized under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Professor Qusay Al-Suhail and the supervision of the President of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Prof. Dr. Abdul-Kazem Jaafar.
The University of Zakho was an active participant and a distinguished figure through the participation of Dr. Karwan as a keynote speaker at the opening session. He spoke about the importance of the semantic Web and its ease of exchanging information and data among the largest number of users, as well as its ability to process information and data through a range of strategies and techniques and retrieving those data from the web. During the evening, Dr. Yassin participated in a workshop held during the first day of the conference.
